  • If only this were required viewing...

The Daily Show specializes in trapping people with their own words.  I'm always curious as to how their victims would defend themselves.  Lucky for them, they rarely have to.  As long as the ones applying the pressure are comedy cable show hosts and not the mainstream media, they can entirely ignore the problem.

  • I saw that clip last night and thought, WOW! Can you say HYPOCRISY?! If only mainstream news shows did their homework like "The Daily Show". Then again, "The Daily Show" is only on the air two hours a week (and not every week) whereas the cable news networks are on 24/7/365. This clip is living proof that sometimes less is more.

As for Palin--the Republicans are essentially betting that the size and loyalty (spurred by Palin's nomination) of their religious right base will be enough to win the election. Given her far-right fundamentalist, anti-science views which will come to light in the next 2 months (belief in creationism, opposition to stem cell research, disbelief in global warming), it's hard to believe McCain/Palin will gain more undecided voters than they'll lose. We can only hope that this base is neither as large nor as loyal to the Republican Party as the Republican leadership thinks they are.

  • If only people always got their information from "The daily show", then everyone everywhere would be misinformed and biased. Too bad it's not required watching. Too bad their might be other sources to get information that don't involve biased sarcastic humor with an absolute bent towards one side of the issue. too bad.
